    Summary

    The last several decades has seen the emergence of numerous novel infectious diseases. Compounding this is the re-emergence of diseases as a result of a combination of reasons, such as increased host exposure and environmental factors. Research in emerging infectious diseases is growing rapidly, with new breakthroughs in the understanding of host-pathogen interactions and the development of innovative and exciting therapeutic strategies.

    This conference aims to bring together researchers in the field of “One-health”, uniting the areas of animal and human disease, as well as the environmental issues around the emergence of infectious disease.

This highly interactive event provide an opportunity for international and Mongolian researchers to create a global scientific exchange of information and increase collaboration potential around the world.

    Organizer: The next International One Health Conference will be held in conjunction with Prince Mahidol Award Conference, the 1st Global Conference on Regional Disease Surveillance Networks, the Centennial Commemoration of the Rockefeller Foundation and in collaboration with WHO, FAO, and OIE.

    Summary

    The 2013 Conference will focus on interdisciplinary collaborations and communications in all aspects of policy and actions for human and animal health, as well as environmental health, in response to the theme:
    “A world united against infectious disease: cross–sectoral solutions”.
