Oniris

Oniris (Nantes-Atlantic National College of Veterinary Medicine, Food Science and Engineering), France, runs a training programme based on the “One world, One health” concept:

Master MAN-IMAL – “Man-Animal-Food Health: Transdisciplinary Management of Global Health and Nutritional Safety”

The course has three different training levels:

  • initial training based on a common scientific knowledge,
  • master level giving advanced or additional skills,
  • expert level for PhD students or students opting for deeper professional specialisation.

The training is aimed at doctors, pharmacists, veterinarians, agricultural or food-processing engineers, agronomists, and biologists of medicine at the Universities of Nantes and Angers and the Ecole Supérieure d’Agriculture (France’s national agricultural college) at Angers.
The program is supported by the French government via the National Research Agency

The Royal Veterinary College, University of London

Masters in Wild Animal Health

This world-class specialist Masters Course (with exit points at Certificate and Diploma) has produced over 190 graduates since its inception in 1994. It provides qualified veterinarians with a depth of knowledge of the management of wild animals and the epidemiology, treatment and control of disease.

DFID Shared Scholarship Scheme

The Shared Scholarship is a joint initiative between the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (with funding from DFID), the Royal Veterinary College, as part of the British aid programme to developing countries.

MSc in One Health

Targeted at students with a degree in veterinary and human medicine, agricultural
science, biology, health, eco-health or related science or social science subjects
and building on a solid foundation of biological, veterinary, medical, pathological
and epidemiological principles, this programme will equip students with the skills
needed to identify, control and manage human and animal diseases in complex
ecosystems and to mitigate risk. The programme will enable students to advance
“One Health” beyond the theoretical to the practical, and bring much-needed
attention to the policy and operational issues that ultimately will be key
determinants for success.
